About Us

Bodega’s Kitchen & Wine Bar offers Caribbean-inspired fare and tapas style dining. Nestled in the beautiful mountain setting of Banner Elk, Bodegas has a casually sophisticated atmosphere that caters to date night and family time all at the same time!

Paul Alcazar is the owner and operator of Bodegas, and you can often find him in the restaurant at any given time. Paul's father was from Cuba, and Paul had a great love and appreciation for Cuban food while he was growing up. Paul had always dreamed of opening his own restaurant, and when he discovered Banner Elk, and the recently renovated Eagles Nest Marketplace, he decided to take the plunge and open Bodegas. He has now turned his dream into a reality, and Bodegas is loved by locals and visitors alike.

Q: How do I make a reservation?

Q: Do you have a kids menu?

A: Yes! Our kids menu can be found on our menus page!

Q: I have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies to gluten/diary. Can I still enjoy the food at Bodegas?

A: Of course! We are more than happy to accommodate you as best we can. Many of our dishes are already gluten or diary free. However, if you see something on the menu that isn't already gluten free, ask your server or give us a call and we will let you know if it can be done!

Q: Is the food really spicy?

A: As a Cuban inspired restaurant, we do have very flavorful food, and some are more spicy than others. Our servers can walk you through the menu.

Q: Can I bring my dog?
